Welcome to the Section of Infection and Immunity!

Our Section of Infection and Immunity was established in 2018 in the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. The section research focuses on investigating microbial infections and host immune response thereto, thus advancing our patient care, education and public service via excellence in research. Our faculty conduct innovative research in fundamental biology relevant to oral health and are largely funded by National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research of NIH.

The core values of the section are to address excellence and integrity in research; to make innovative discovery in biology; and to enable interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork in practice. Our missions are to train the best mind in science and practice; to discover the basis of diseases and cures; and to translate discovery into therapy.
